Trinational Fasting and Blockade for a world without nuclear weapons
This was the 3rd time I joined a group to comemorize the shock of Hiroshima and Nagasaki which still casts a shadow on the science that is on going in north corea for example and also on the attacks of american forces on Iraq! Bombs and also uran-amunition is too deadly for the human race...
Last weak on the 5th of August I arrived in Cochem, where the Mosel is flowing and made my way up the hills through Büchel up to the Militarybase where Tornados train to throw bombs "Nato Style" ;(
It`s not right and the german parties know it, the police knows it, we demand change because we know, the soldiers make a secret and among them one doesn`t really know what the other may know and maybe still we all don`t have really have a clue how to get rid of the fucking A-Bombs. I suggest we don`t build new ones and get the radioactive stuff out of the shells and keep it away from people who are not informed yet, like the one soldier we met...
Yup, when I arrived at the protest camp right in front of the main entrance of the base, I was relieved because I saw a camp with standards like toilets, water and electricity... I put up a tent and we celebrated a first sermon next to two tripodes blocking the way for cars. The next day we made a action in Cochem too, we held a banner that said "Holidayland Cochem Nuclearweapon free". We took some signatures on a letter to Angela Merkel and then we went back up the hill, where the noise is coming from and the stength of cerosine.
There was the group "Friedensritt" that joined the protest with horses, Cecile read from her book "kommen Sie da runter" and we all had a good time even when some of us didn`t eat and it was a serious reason to be there...
The next day, when the first letters were handed to the soldiers driving in, I fliped though some papers and Information from Ippnw for example and a strange message could be heard by two policemen coming forward. There was a Terrorthreat and we should understand, that the base is on a higher alarmlevel now! We reflected and it couldn`t distract us. We refreshed our power, did the Cochem action again and planed the next Blockade...
The next day our success came quick, a blockade is not a word from Obama, but if it stops nonsense it`s very helpfull ;) A friend from France, our press woman and I build up a confernce online that day. It was the first skype conference for me and it was fun. Paris, Büchel, Bourghfield, we shared some information - The Ministry of defence in Paris for example was surrounded by tents this year and the media reported accordingly...
When I made my way home, I didn`t yet see the Lebenslaute concert, but they allready underlined the break of our fasting with some good music...
I tried to think about those who still stayed and protest and remove the camp, which is hard work... I supported the way I can and to come to a conclusion now, yes we can think of a world without nuclear weapons. It would be a saver place.
